While I know that many of the wonderful people who read our blog don’t live in the Omaha area, I did want to be sure to spread the word to anyone who does live nearby that this coming Saturday, on July 1, from 6-8pm I will be pouring a flight of incredible white wines at the Nosh Wine Bar in the Old Market.
It isn’t often that I get to don my WSET sommelier lapel pin and be the one to do the pouring, and I’m excited for the opportunity. More than that, I’m excited because of the wines I get to share. The flight of six wines includes the following:
- Smith-Madrone Riesling, 2014
- Optima Gewurztraminer 2016
- Salvestrin Sauv Blanc 2015
- Pellet Estate Sunchase Vineyard Un-Oaked Chardonnay 2015
- Calafia Verdelho 2015
- Pride Viognier 2016
These wines, to me, are the epitome of what refreshing summer whites are all about. For my more detailed tasting notes, you can read the current issue of Food & Spirits Magazine, or just swing by Nosh on Saturday where I’ll happily pour you a glass and we can chat about them.
Nosh has informed me that this event is free to their club members, and a mere $15 for non-members, and includes tastes of all six wines plus appetizers. I’m excited about these wines, and eager to share them with you. I hope to see you Saturday night!
