To accompany my post-run, pre-church Sunday brunch today, I pulled this little French sparkler out of the fridge, and it did not disappoint.
The truly exciting thing about this wine will come only to the patient. At the front end, I found notes of tart green apple, ripe citrus, and green melon, all accompanied by weightless bubbles. Toward the end, however, the wine began to take on notes of brie and toast, which I enjoyed a great deal.
I don’t normally let sparkling wines “open up” but perhaps I should. Great QPR at around $12-$15/bottle. 89 points on my scale.
